Paws on Parole

Interested in Adopting?

The first thing you'll need to do is fill out an Alachua County Animal Services Adoption Application. You can do that online by clicking HERE. When you fill out the application, put Paws on Parole and the dog’s name in the box marked “reason for adopting a pet.” Don't forget to hit the submit button once you've completed the application.

Wait a few days, then call Animal Services at 352-264-6870 ext. 2, and ask if your application was received and approved.

There is also a second application you will need to fill out. It is our own Paws on Parole Adoption Application. You can also do that online by clicking HERE.

Next, make plans to come to our “Meet and Greet” to meet us and the dogs. See our "Home" page for outing dates and locations.

We are looking for the “best fit” for our dogs… If there is more than one ‘‘best fit,’’ the dog will go to the family who applied first.

Very often we find the perfect fit during the first meet and greet. If that is the case you will be notified to go to Animal Services and complete the adoption process. The adoption fee is $45.00 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, all immunizations, flea and heartworm prevention, and a bag of food.

You will then be invited to the 2nd meet and greet to spend time with your new family member and work with our training instructors. You will also be required to purchase our training book at this time.

Then on Graduation day you'll pick up your new pal at Animal Services at 11 am.

If you have any questions or would like more information go to our "Contact Us" page or contact Hilary Hynes at Alachua County Animal Services 352-264-6881 or heh@alachuacounty.us
